Just wondering if any of my fellow mumsneters have used this weight loss programme? Came across the website by accident and I'm quite interested. No ££ details on the website though!

I just started it today, but it's hugely expensive - over 600 and having read the diet plan, it's pretty austere. I'm wondering if it's the fact that you pay out so much money that is going to be the incentive to stay.

Has anyone else tried the Rachel Ricketts weightloss plan? I'd love to hear how you've got on.

minskminx How are you getting on? Having tried everything I am interested to know if this works. You said that the diet plan is pretty austere, what kinds of things and amounts are you supposed to have in a day.

It is a lot of money but if it works I would consider.

Typical day is breakfast of poached or scrambled eggs with crackers..no bread or butter or plain yoghurt and fruit. Tea or coffee is black. You only eat one protein and one carb for lunch and supper... any amount of salad or vegetables and snacks are just crackers and fruit which gets a bit monotonous. I lost 3.5 labs first week but just one this week, largely because of a wine fuelled girl's lunch which was very enjoyable. I just don't see it as being very different from many other diets that work if you have great willpower. I don't , which is why I'm overweight in the first place! I'll keep at it for a bit longer to see how it goes... and I'm also conscious that I've invested a fair bit of cash!

I have just signed up to this today. Very expensive but I am going to give it ago. Payment covers the four stages of the programme, weekly consultations and email support as required for 4 months. What happens after that, do you have to pay out more money to continue programme because I certainly can't afford that?

The founder /owner appears to have no qualifications at all as a dietician- she just says she is a consultant. Anyone could do what she's doing and give you a diet sheet with very few foods on it. Or you could do it yourself. She's basically a weight loss coach but doesn't show any training on her site or any registration with any coaching organisation.

famvalues I am beginning to think you are connected with her in some way Hmm. Al your posts here read like someone who is her PR person. Surely not? You're not being very subtle about it.

I have read her website in detail. If she has professional traning and qualification she ought to put them on her website.

The term 'nutritional advisor' is meaningless, sorry. Anyone can call themselves that but they need a BSc in nutrition or dietetics to be qualified , properly, and registered with the BDA. If she has aany qualifications she should make them obvious so people can check them out with the professional awarding bodies.

I am toying with reporting you because you have a) no user name history and b) your posts read like an advert.

I have no doubt that anyone parting with almost £600 is going to be motivated to eat the food on the list this person provides.

However, I feel strongly that people who use terms like 'nutritional advisor' and 'consultant' should also understand that people are entitled to question their qualifications and training.

Anyone can build a fancy website and say they are this and that.
I could produce a website and offer diet sheets and charge £600 for them; it's not hard especially if you have an interest in nutrition and health.

What I object to is people who do this not being open and honest that they have no special training or qualifications. If they want to advise people based solely on their own success with personal weight loss that's fine. Just be honest.

I would really NOT recommend using this lady - expensive and not any kind of diet that one can sustain... I couldnt even sustain it for a few weeks. She never got back to me, was always a bit pushy, and just all in all, disappointing. Honestly - you are better off going to dreaded WeightWatchers. If anyone actually did reach their target weight - I'd love to hear about it! I did this cracker (in more ways than one) regime about 4 years ago..

I enquired about this, basically she wants to charge hundreds of pounds per month to tell you what to eat. It's a con!!

Hi to those asking about Rachel Ricketts Weight loss programme ! On the plus side 1) It does work! If you stick to it exactly its probably one of the few diets that actually does what is says on the tin! I lost 20lbs in 4-5 weeks......2) As its very specific ,it suited me as I was told what, and how much I could eat at each meal...all good .On the negative side 1) its very expensive 2) I was starving a lot of the time!! 3) and probably the most noteworthy ,of any diet Ive attempted in the past ,when I came off this one, possibly because its so low on carbs, the weight piled back on very quickly! It didn't seem to me I was switching to eating excessively either.Overall I would say, if you want/need to lose weight fast 'go for it',but be prepared for to it to be just that, a quick fix.....I still use it from time to time ,without updating my blood test ,and if I have enough willpower I can lose several pounds pretty quickly ...hope this helps!

Losing weight is not easy.

You are not fat because you are bad. You weigh more than you want to weigh because you are influenced by factors out of your control. You can take control again and you can feel successful and empowered again. You can be you again. You can and will lose weight, and understand why you have found this so hard to do before. Follow the programme and believe in yourself. It is within your reach. You will not be judged, just helped. You really have nothing to lose, except your own barriers.

"Ice cold San Miguel on a roasting hot day... chilled Prosecco and flowers just to celebrate Friday night... this was a real challenge for me to let go of. I convinced myself that I could just skip supper to compensate, but what used to work in the past no longer worked any more, the weight just kept slowly creeping up on me.

What I now understand is the effect alcohol has, not simply in calories alone, but the way in which it changes the chemistry in the body, how it triggers the release of insulin, prevents fat burning for up to 72 hours and stresses the liver making fat burning even more difficult. Then there are the psychological issues of being addicted to treating ourselves and dopamine.

The biggest reward of all? Losing over 10kg already, now that's something to celebrate for sure! My weight loss journey is an education in food, nutrition, biochemistry and psychology.

Thank you Daley, a font of knowledge, always supporting and non-judgemental!"

I have battled with my weight most of my adult life. I’ve tried every diet known to man, followed them to the letter, lost maybe 1/2 stone, got bored, given up and gained more weight than when I started. Does this sound familiar? I was apprehensive to start Rachel Ricketts I have battled with my weight most of my adult life. I’ve tried every diet known to man, followed them to the letter, lost maybe 1/2 stone, got bored, given up and gained more weight than when I started. Does this sound familiar? I was apprehensive to start Rachel Ricketts because it’s not cheap but the plan is completely different to any other plan I have undertaken. There is no quick fix! There is knowledge however. This is what has made the difference. Understanding what foods affect my metabolism and what foods have been poisoning my body for many years. I’ve learnt what I can eat to control my cravings and for the first time ever I have reduced my appetite. I’m not starving hungry and thinking about my next meal every waking hour. I have had weekly and daily support from Daley and his advice, tips and guidance have been invaluable. Do not hesitate and do not waste money on every diet under the sun. This programme really works, it will change your view of food and it will change your life forever.
