Possible Low Thyroid Activity

I've just had blood tests and they show a possible low thyroid activity and ask me to make an appointment to discuss managing this which I have done.

I find I have some of the symptoms of low thyroid (don't sleep well at all, constantly exhausted etc, hair very coarse, dry etc, moody as all hell etc) but some of these have either been here for years or got worse as I've got older.

I do have PMS/T but have had it for years and never know if it's me getting older that is making it worse or whether I'm a moody cow.

anyway, what should I ask the doctor etc? any natural remedies. thanks.

What do you mean by possibly low? Are your blood results borderline? Do you know what they are?

I have hypothyroidism and am on medication. If you look down the page there's a thyroid thread started for all sufferers. Might help to have a read.

The letter has just said that 'possible low thyroid activity' maybe I should ask for further tests?? and no don't know yet if tests are borderline or what they are.

letter just says for me to contact them to discuss managing this which appears to say to me that they know results....

Ask for a copy of your actual blood results, which you are entitled to. I'm guessing they tested your thyroid function.

Tell us the numbers (I'm guessing it'll be your tsh, ft4 and possibly ft3). Thyroid UK is a good website to read, it'll tell you what you're being tested for and more info.
