DD had a verruca for about 3 months and a wart for about 3 weeks. At night I put cotton wool soaked in apple cider vinegar (from Holland and Barrett) on it. I covered it in duct tape. I then used used micro pore tape to hold it all in place. After 3 weeks with about 4 nights in that period of not doing anything verruca and wart gone.

These were her only verruca and wart. Prior to above method didn't try anything else,

I have heard this before and for some seems to work.

DD has loads of verrucaes and now one wart on her finger so maybe we should try this too.

micro pore tape ? can you explain a bit more what this is and where did you buy it ?

apple cider vinegar also available in asda.
The vinegar didn't work for ds2 and duct tape slipped off-didn't try tape on top, but when it was very cold last winter he (unbeknownst to me) wore his socks all night and day and didn't change them much. I think because they were quite tight socks they starved it of air and after a couple of weeks it died and fell out!

micropore is a surgical tape. iIts white thin paper like sticky tape. You get it on a roll a bit like sellotape from Boots or superdrug. I found that the duct tape didn't stick well to skin and came off in bed over night. I used micropore as when you peel it off it doesn't stick to skin like a plaster does.

I also used corn cushions, they have a hole in the middle, I put this over the verrucca, and put the cotton wool into the dip. It meat it stayed in place and didn't go on the normal skin.

I didn't rub the skin with an emery board, though many people say to do that.

DS1 has loads of verrucas. We've tried everything and I mean everything. I hadn't heard of apple cider vinegar, I am going to order some promptly and will report back.

Worked on DS's verruca too.

Wartner works really well - my DD cleared in a week too.....

Oh, and putting micropore over duct tape seems odd - the idea is the duct tape sticks to the skin (and the verruca/wart) and keeps the oxygen out..... if it does not stick it does not work, so instead of using something else to stick the duct tape - just use the something else?

Painted DS's with black nail varnish. Took about 2 weeks to go.

I've just got some Salactol. I appear to have no immunity to verrucas, mine will stay for several years if I don't take drastic action. I've only been using this for a week but already the damn thing has nearly gone. I know from past experience (I've used it previously) you need to go slow once you near the base of the thing though or they get really sore. And you don't need to file it either, with this stuff.

It's sad really, how evangelical I am about a wart paint... Grin
