I've been having some trouble with a sensitive molar recently. Dentist did an x-ray and found nothing untoward, but it had a very old filling in, which she removed, and put in a dressing for a week. I was still getting some discomfort when I went back so the dentist drilled a little bit more and filled it again. That was a few weeks ago and it's still sensitive. I've noticed more recently that the surface of the tooth has a rough patch. I've googled the symptoms, and tooth erosion sounds likely.
Looking at the possible causes, I've been drinking a can of Pepsi Max most days, and I've decided to cut that out. I'm also thinking that it's likely that I've been brushing too vigorously, so I'll keep an eye on that too. I stopped drinking milk a few months ago (though I eat lots of yoghurt / cheese), and I'm wondering if that's contributing to the problem.
I've read about remineralising toothpastes. I've got Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief at the moment, but I don't know if that one contains any remineralising ingredients. It doesn't say anything on the tube, so I would imagine not. Will try to get something tomorrow.
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks.
