Anyone else trying to avoid hospital?

Had upper resp infection for over a week - sinus pain, sore ear, sore throat, lost voice, coldy symptoms and fever.

Today it has turned in to a cough, breathless on little excersion, feel a bit like am drowning. Peak flow down but not terribly low.

On antibiotics, pain killers, usual asthma meds and nebulisers. Nothing else hosp could do apart from oxygen and magnesium IV. Not bad enough for them yet.

Got spirometery (lung function) tests on Monday at different hospital so want to go to them, if i got admitted would miss that. I am picturning tomorrow lying on sofa watching tennis.

How long have you been on the AB's? If more than 48 hours with no improvement, I'm sure you know that you need rechecking

Resting tomorrow may well help, but if you do get any worse, you should try and see a dr

Am hoping to hold out until Monday and see my own lovely GP - or one of them at practice.

Hate this time of day/night when you feel ill! Am trying to mentally pack a hospital bag just in case!
