Normal virus thing?

I've been ill since Friday morning: achy joints, raging temp which only comes down with both paracetamol and ibruprofen, fatigue, headache, light hurting eyes, loss of appetite, and in the last 24 hours a throat that feels like I've swallowed razor blades.

I'm not sleeping well because I'm shivering as I'm cold but I'm burning up too.

I've got no cold or snotty nose as such so assuming I can rule out flu (?) but to not feel any better 72 hours later, is this normal with a virus?

Thankful DP is off this week. Him and DD are bonding which is nice as he doesn't see her much when working. I just wish I had the energy to join in with their fun Sad

I'm taking berocca vitamins daily, paracetamol every 4 hours and ibruprofen every 6 hours and throat lozengers. Also had pro plus on Saturday as was entertaining for my bday BBQ which we couldn't cancel despite me wishing to curl up in a ball and die

You poor thing. Sounds like exactly what DS1 had a couple of weeks ago - word for word the same symptoms only yours sound a bit worse than his - but really rough throat achey limbs, temperature, headache and barely able to sit up straight let alone stand.

It's some weird virus going round. Unusual at this time of year but I know a few people who have had it.

Thanks Racingheart. You've reassured me at least that it must be something going around. DP said to go to doctors tomorrow but I don't see what that will achieve? Just rest and keep temp down which I'm already doing.

Hope your kids are better now.

So far dd and DP haven't got it. Just want to feel normal Angry and I want to eat! I love my food and I just have no inclination for it at all. On a positive my belly looks slightly trimmer Grin

It does sound like flu, you don't have to have cold type symptoms with flu.

Just assumed you did Souper? Do you not?

Perhaps it is then. It's the fact I feel no different to 3 days ago and I thought I'd feel slightly better today Sad

Feeling sorry for myself. I'm in bed going to catch 40 winks but MN is distracting me!
