Tummy bug, day four, need advice.

Hi,

I seem to be on day four of a particularly bad tummy bug. Now I feel better in myself, but I'm still getting loose stools and mild tummy cramps. But my appetite is back.

Should I be doing anything? It seems like a long time for a tummy bug.

NHS Direct told me 5 days was the norm and to use lopermide to slow my stomach down.

There seems to be a particularly viscous bug doing the rounds at the moment that goes on with diarrhoea for ages. Alot of my friends and their babies have had it and I've got it now, am on day 5 still feeling rubbish and bed bound.

I think the advice now is eat normally if you are feeling better, and keep your fluids up but didn't work for me, felt ok yesterday so ate but today I have regressed

They are horribly contagious too, so lots of hand washing and you will still be contagious for at least 48hrs after.
