Can I get a second opinion?

Hi,

I'm having problems with my Rheumatology Doctor. I got a referral about two years ago after my junior RA returned with a vengeance!

Problem is that my RA doc isnt very good at pain management. She's given me everything but pain killers (for two years....) and she's avoiding giving me anything like Methotrexate or Sulphasalazine.

What are my rights for a second opinion through the NHS? I live between four hospitals, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Addenbrooks and Colchester but I'm not sure how it works. I've heard of patient choices etc but is that just for surgery?!

Any advice appreciated!
