This thread is for those of us who are trying to get fitter and healthier, lose weight, tone up...through regular exercise but who need a bit of motivation and support to stick at it.

Whether you shred, run, lift weights, post here to share how you are getting on and to get a moral support where needed.

Ooh - good thread. I've just started the 5:2 diet thing - I need to lose weight for a big op later in the year (have lost some, but still a little way to go)

ATM I do yoga twice a week, and a keep fit class on fridays. I definitely need to up my aerobic exercise. I like swimming, but can't do as much as I used to because of shoulder probs, I have tried the Shred (and nearly died in the process!) I fancy doing something dancy - to a DVD (not in public!) and I also have an exercise bike so am going to commit to five miles a day on that.

Would love to hear others ideas on exercise that can be reasonably easily fitted into daily life.

Kurri I started off on the shred but gotwww.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/1711732-The-non-specific-daily-exercisey-thread bored so kind of started doing my own routine loosely based on it.

Sometimes I do tae bo, some good workouts on you tube.

I've lost the weight I wanted to (which was only 3kg) so it's all about fitness and toning now. I've started using heavier weights and tend to do 15 mins cardio plus 15 mins weights or 20 mins of one or the other. Need to do more ab work really but find it really boring!

Havent exercised since thursday as have been ill but am off on hol on sat so need to get back on it!

Have eased myself back in gently with
50 squats
10 front raises- both arms together
50 skiing type things

All with 3.8kg weights (3.8kg each hand that is-I'm never sure with weights if you are meant to say the total amount or the amount in each hand)

Pretty lame but ok considering yesterday I was lying down all day!

Hello folks! Lovely new thread, hope you don't mind me dropping in even as I have fallen totally off the shredding wagon and into a vat of wine. Planning to start in earnest next week once hubby's 40th party is out of the way...I need some motivation so delighted to see folk here
