The Never Ending Cold - anyone else got it?

I rarely suffer from colds etc, get tonsillitis most years but not a full cold. I have had this now for 12 days, each day it mutates into something else, started off snotty, then went to sore throat and tickly cough, that seems to have gone but now I'm snotty again, one nostril feels totally blocked and my sinuses hurt.

WTF is going on, will it ever go? I have to go away for work twice next week and I just want to be better. Not been to the gym for 2 weeks. It's awful. I just go to work, eat and go to bed, no energy for much else :-(

We've had it. It lasted three weeks, and I don't suffer from colds normally either. Weirdest virus ever!

Phew, was starting to think I was alone! I have OCD/health anxiety and of course put it down to un-diagnosed lymphoma or leukemia....thanks for replying. so only a week to go. Joy!

Yes, 5 of us in this house so it's been going round and round us all for weeks. I'm normally immune to most things the kids and DH get (Magic Mum gene?!) but this ones got me finally too!

I'm better now so not much longer! Def no lymphoma ;-).
Everyone had it here and even my mum caught it and she has been a teacher for 30 years!
I suffer from anxiety too and when I am physically unwell it takes its toll on my mood. I always think I'm never going to get better!! Just remember that you will!

Yep, going round in circles with it here too. This Saturday it will be three weeks since I first came down with it and just as I was thinking I had finally got rid of the crushing fatigue and general lethargy, today I feel a sinister tickle in my throat and have been sneezing a lot, so perhaps it's back to square one ...

Yes, we have it at the moment. I keep sneezing and it's making my sinuses very sore and blocked.

Am onto about day 8 now. I NEVER get colds. This one must be very virulent. I've also got a rash on my legs which I'm presuming is viral. Every time I think it's improving, my nose starts itching and I start sneezing and eye watering again - especially towards the evening. Absolutely exhausted. When I have had colds in the past, they're usually on the way out by about day 3. I don't think I've had an 8 day one that's still going so strong. Sorry some of you are onto your 3rd week of this. It's rotten. I feel in a mood with it too. Especially as it's been so sunny outside and I've just not felt well enough to go out. Hope we all feel better soon.

Day 13 here and the house is going to wrack and ruin I've no energy to do more than the bare minimum.

I did actual weeping last week - not one to feel sorry for myself at all - but boy was I miserable thanks to that cold.

3 months

It came into the house mid November and myself and the children haven't had a full week clear yet.... I'm losing my mind.

This week I was totally floored, it got bad last Friday and I'm just starting to improve now but still have a hacking cough and I'm all stuffed up, 2/3 children are coughing too.

Yes, it is hideous. DS1 had six days off school before half term, was poorly during half term and still has a cough although back at school now. I have had a hacking bronchial cough for a week or so and now have an absolutely killer sore throat. Today me & DS2 just watched tv which I feel bad about as he did enough of that when he was ill, now he is well but I dont have the energy to play with him or take him out.

Yes, I have had it for 3 weeks and DH is on day 12 and has had the most awful cough for the last week.

The DCs are less affected, and are just more or less snotty from day to day.

Ugh I've had. Also, started off as pain in the face runny nose eg, then my throat. I'm 5 weeks in and still not 100 percent my lymph nodes are a bit swollen aswell. But it's not getting me down

Ds and I too. Seems forever. DH got it first but seems to have got off lightly. Grrr

Yes my mam got off lightly also. I feel a lot better past few days though

Yep, weeks if not months here too. Ended ip taking the Dts out if nursery for some days and getting a part time nanny because they were missing so many days I never got any work done!

Hate sinus pain! Gt them menthol crystals? There amazing and took away mine and some anti inflammatory

There are 6 of us in our house dp are into our 4 th cold since November, youngest ds started eirh tonsillitis also in November and not a day has gone by since where one of hasn't been Ill !
The 'bug' has hit us at the moment, along with a weird sore throat get well soon.

Yehs my throat is a weird sore throat as its not to sor but when I swollow it's very slightly sore and so is the same side of my tong?. N then a few days later it will switch sides lol

Yet again full of cold. Woke up with splitting head ache blocked ears sneezing and feeling sick :( let's hope it's a quick one this time.

I’m going on 4 weeks! Thought I was getting better but it never went away. Today is really bad. I can’t be around anyone because I’m probably still contagious. Coughing, sneezing, blowing my nose constantly and really stuffed head. And I’m a healthy person. Taking tons of C and D, nothing helps.
