I was booked in for these two procedures under G.A. last week but only had the hysteroscopy. I knew this was a possibility beforehand but was disappointed when I came to, to find that only the one had been done. The consultant explained that it was difficult to see exactly what was happening - my period was coming to an end - and that the samples would take about 5 days to analyse. Assuming all is well, I'll need to go back in for an ablation in a couple of weeks (Xmas?!) or, I suppose a hysterectomy in Jan if 'sinister' things are found.
I suppose I'm looking for reassurance, really! Is this normal? Has it happened to any of you? Any answers welcomed!
