Should be mildish- it's only really nasty in a newborn. DS2 was 8 months old when ds1 had chickenpox- we were seeing a peadiatrician about ds1 at the time and I asked him about ds2 getting it, he was very blase, said it was 50:50 that he would (I was bfeeding) with a shrug of the shoulders.

Our neighbours daughter was born with CP and I have to say she is amazing - she has astounded everyone with her progress - she is now nine - walking, albeit very wobbly, using sign language and chatting quite clearly, horse rides each week and has recently come back from her second family ski-ing holiday (its easier for her to ski than walk). Her parents attitude has always been not to treat her with kids gloves and they have been very gungho about meeting this devasting illness head on. Just wanted to post this so you can give your friend a postive take on this... In terms of what you can do - just be there if and when she needs to talk, make sure she gets some me time now and again ..
