Mouth ulcers in new places - is this normal?

I've always been very susceptible to mouth ulcers and for the past two years or so I have had only a handful of ulcer-free days, with usually between 2 and 5 at any one time (have 10mo DD which probably explains this!). They've been checked by the doctor and dentist in the past but in recent months I've started getting lots under my tongue and on the back of my throat - I thought I was getting repeated throat infections till I took a good look and saw it was ulcers. Naturally I am now worried I have big scary illness: do people normally get mouth ulcers there? Should I go and harrass my GP?

Thankyou!

If they heal up, then its not Big Scary illness, but you should get reasons why you get so many checked out - having them all the time isn't normal.
I have coeliac disease, and before diagnosis had them all the time, and my dad has just been diagnosed with Behcets disease after months of really nasty ones. So don't accept them as just one of those things, ask your gp why

I get ulcers on my throat sometimes, as well as around the edges of my tongue. In my case, they seem to be associated with (1) whitening toothpastes; (2) electric toothbrushes; (3) eating lots of polos; (4) not taking my daily multivitamins and minerals.

thankyou: that's quite a relief. I will go and hassle my GP again - they do give the impression it's just a thing you have to put up with.
