When will I feel better?

I had 2 bad asthma attacks last week and have had small ones since, usually brought on by the stress of the children not behaving. I feel like crying atm tbh. I am waiting in for a delivery from the post man and then are meant to be taking the kids to my inlaws for a sleep over. DS1 doesn't want to stay so he will come back with me but I won't get a break. I don't mind having him but I need a break. I just feel achey, tired, have chest tightness and can't be bothered to do anything.

I have never been this bad with asthma before.

I think you need to go back to your GP and get a proper referral to a proper thoracic person.
I also think you should be clattering your DCs heads together and tell them to behave.
Are they old enough to see how stressful you find them?

Are you on any medication to calm the asthma down? Is ds old enough to understand that you can only rest well if you are alone ( he may be worried and wanting to look after you?!)

Just make him stay with ILs. It's not up to him to decide, especially now when you really need a break.

Can your DH not take time off work to look after the children?
Do you have any mates, school mums etc that can take them for a day or two to give you rest?

I am back home without any children. DH offered to pick ds1 up after work so I could get a break so it was a compromise. The children are 6, 8 and ten. Last week the younger one was in tears but this week he just repeats to his brother "mummy isn't well" when ds1 tries to tell him to calm down, etc.

I felt mean and it wasn't that I didn't want the one to one time with ds1, but I just need a break. He wanted to stay with me to get away from his brother and sister rather than not wanting to be with the inlaws. Poor thing never gets a break from them and we really need to try and work out a way to do it. The age gap between the boys is really showing now.

I have so much that needs doing but I just haven't got the energy and this will be the only chance I get to just rest so I think I better had.

Def rest, but do ask for a review of (any) drugs you are taking. I know that asthma is awful, but you should have the energy for ordinarly day to day stuff.
Can you talk to another MN with the same. I know for a fact that there are two with brittle asthma.

Thank you.

Today I don't know if it is an emotional problem dragging me down as I don't feel tired in my head by he thought of moving just stresses me out. I have serious things happening this month and that is effecting me whether I am thinking of it or not. I really wish I wasn't lead by my emotions so much, even when I try not to think of things they are there.

Thank you. I am doing nothing much today as the kids are back later and we will probably try and go out at the weekend. I can't believe it is back to school on Monday.
