I had a bit of a fall on holiday and broke a few bones and now have plaster casts on both legs. They are weight bearing so I can take a few steps with a zimmer frame/crutches and have a wheelchair for out and about but hoping someone can give me tips for making life a bit easier. Also any tips for making bones heal quicker, plaster casts itch less etc gratefully received .Thanks all.

Get yourself some knitting needles to get to any itches. Don't be too clever. Ask anyone and everyone for help and don't be afraid to. How awful. Hope it all heals quickly.

Def no knitting needles - my grandmother (who spent 5 years in plaster) had horrendous scars from scratching down casts with them.

Limbos are brill.

Someone on here said taking fish oil would reduce itching - didn't work for me, but can't do any harm

Brilliant - will google Limbo cast covers now. I'll try the fish oil too - any particular brand? Thanks all.
