Small red lump on bikini line - should I be worried? I am worried:-( Could it be sinister?

I have a small pea sized lump on the inside of my thigh around the bikini line and am starting to worry. It appeared about a week ago when I was on holiday. It is painful like a spot but I (stupidly) squeezed it and it bled, I expected pus (sorry) to come out but it didn't just blood.

In my drama queen style, I am worried in case it could be cancerous. Is this likely?

It definitely not any STI. What should I do?

I have to make an apt for a smear test but how can I go with this horrible lump on my bikini line?

Any advice?

Had something like that in my armpit once, freaked out and went to the gp, turned out it was a gland that was swollen. Took some antibiotics and it fooked off again. You have glands in your groin as well, don't you?
Could also be an ingrown hair. What type of hair removal have you been using?
Go for the smear, show them and ask them what it is. Good luck!

I love Bel too Grin !

Would I not be prone to ingrown hairs though? I thought an ingrown hair would look swollen and pussy? Sorry to tea time crowd

I wondered a swollen gland as well, but that would probably be too painful to squeeze.

I had a swollen gland in my armpit that I mistook for a spot and oh my god it punished me for it Shock. I think you would be in a lot of pain if you squeezed an enlarged lymph node until it bled.

It sounds a lot like an ingrowing hair tbh, but it's always better to see the doctor if you're worried.

Ingrown hair's my guess.

Very unlikely a "gland" lymph nodes are a bit further over and a lot deeper than skin.

Unlikely anything to worry about. Keep an eye on it in case it gets infected or irritated by your pants with where it is.

i am " blessed " with one of these nasty feckers at the moment too, mine seems to come to a head and i burst it and all i get is blood. There was talk on here a while ago for a "Spot Squad" who will travel around the country lancing and bursting on request. Anyone got any phone numbers?

Should I put anything on it? TCP/Sudocream? My pants are rubbing along it becasue of where it is.

I'm mortified showing it to the nurse :-(

A tic

Nope, I reckon it's an ingrown hair. Get thee some Magnesium Sulphate paste or toothpaste also works.

If it's hard and round it's probably a gland actually, you can get them there - I have before. I once thought I'd grown bollocks overnight Hmm Do you have a blister/injury on your leg or foot that your glands could be reacting too - I got one from a fly bite on my leg. It goes on it's own. Warm baths can help though.

If it's an ingrowing hair it will not feel round, it'll feel lumpy IYSWIM. If it feels like a pea it's more likely to be a gland as they tend to be more uniform in shape.

Just that they are full of blood and appear on holiday. But it wouldn't look like a normal spot, more like a little sac.

gland = antib's.

Tics are removed by your GP. Google images will help you rule that out :)

You can get them anywhere. If you've seen them on dogs, you'd know if it was one.
