hi, i am aware you can get cysyitis after sex but can you get it instantly!! i find myself in the loo constantly and having to hold a hot water bottle to my tum to get to sleep after sex as its so painful. doc referred me to gyn but they just said 'sometimes thats just the way it is'. Am just avoiding it altogether at mo so any advice would be very gratefully recieved.

Poor you - I've had similar in the past - a real painful burning sensation immediately afterwards as if i have Cystitus .. Now i make damn sure i pee before sex.. but the main culprit, i discovered, was if i was on top... Do you still get it regardless of what position you've been in?

Are you using condoms? Many people have a latex allergy, and that can make things pretty sore afterwards.
And plenty of lube?

Gynae fobbed you off by saying that; its a load of old rubbish and its affecting your relationship and quality of life.

Painful sex or deep pain during sex is highly suggestive of endometriosis.

I would return to the GP and ask for a referral to another gynae; the last one you saw was rubbish. You were fobbed off and failed.

Ah, definitely go back to GP, and ask for 2nd opinion.. I did that a couple of years ago, and the second Gynae discovered 2 fibroids - funny i don't reckon they'd mysteriously appeared in the 5 months between me seeing the 2 different consultants, and they both did the same things Hmm

(Still have them, they don't cause me any problems, but it just proved to me some Gynaes can't quite be arsed!)

Good luck, don't be afraid to make a fuss - they're paid to do a decent job!
