Does anyone know anyone have any experience of it.
My dad is in second stage and was given 1-2 years a little while ago.
He has oxygen at home etc..
It seems to have been pretty stable for a while now but mum said he seems to be getting worse this past week or so.
He was a medical Dr himself so not sure if that makes it worse or better but he won't talk about it or anything related to my mum which she is finding frustrating.
He is obviously very unhappy and I guess scared (although he wouldn't admit it)
If anyone has been through it with a relative it would be good to hear from you.

Hi Ivor, been watching your thread for a while now, hoping someone else would be able to offer you some advice but couldn't ignore it any longer ......

My dad had Fibrosis of the lungs - what sort of things do you want to know? I'll do my best to help if I can.

Another one here too with a dad going through this.

Two years into the diagnosis my dad also became very scared and angry but as he is now approaching the end stage, he seems to have found some inner peace and is much more accepting of the inevitable.

This is such a cruel and distressing disease and sympathies to you both...

Sorry Friendlymum, just re read your post and saw that you've actually lost your dad.

If It's not too painful, can I ask how long he was ill for from the diagnosis? I know through my own research that every case is different but there seems to be a lack of information about the end stage of this disease.

I'd also be interested to hear from both of you what form of lung fibrosis, was a cause identified or idiopathic?
