So stupid. I cooked some bacon at lunchtime as I had some left over from yesterday. Thought it was a pain that there were only 3 bits rather than the 4 I thought were left and that it didn't look as fresh and pink as it did but thought it was only 36 hours old since open so just made it anyway as I was in a hurry.
All was fine until this evening I ask dh where the ham he bought was - and discover it was sitting on top of the bacon I should have cooked for lunch hiding it from view.
Which means the other bacon is one that I should have thrown out at least a week ago before we went on holiday but didnt get around to as it was all very last minute and chaotic and that if it wasn't looking nice and pink as I was expecting then it really was very well past it's best.
So am I likely to get some nasty sick lurgy? What does bacon tend to carry - will it be something that will hit dh and I tonight or one of the nasty ones that tales a few days to get into the system?
Thanks in advance; am already feeling a bit green and icky but that could easily just be a worried imagination and the after effects of a holiday that's left me over exhausted!
