I am overwhelmed by the range of vitamin supplements available...

does anyone here know their stuff?

i am mid thirties, skin not that great, long term vegertarian - bordering vegan, mostly have my 5+ a day, hair and nails seem fine, normal weight. often wake up with zero energy....though that could be not having had a full nights sleep for almost three years (thanks son)

i was thinking vitamins would be a good place to start...

am on holiday at the moment, co-sleeping, resolved to get the sleep issues under control as soon as we are home.

thanks Smile

I started taking Floradix iron and vitamins tablets from Holland and Barrett a couple of months ago. I think they have made a difference.

If you want more information, the NHS have just released a report for the public on the benefits of supplements.
It is here.

There are some vitamins and nutrients that both vegetarian and vegan diets are more liable to be short of but the vast majority of both groups who eat a varied diet get more than enough.

I don't think you need to look at supplements.
I think you need to look at why you're not getting good quality nights sleep.

might be worth a visit to your gp and ask for blood tests to diagnose what you are missing, look at your symptons and review what might be wrong, rather than self diagnosing.

If there is something wrong, it is better to be diagnosed early rather than months down the line

If you want to deal with the sleep/fatigue issues more directly, you might find this part of the NHS webpage handy.
