Thank you for all your good wishes for tomorrow. I am keeping busy and putting it to the back of my mind. I've had a funny sort of day though - got recalled to the hospital because I needed another blood test - the one on Tuesday came back showing rare antibodies so they needed another one to make sure they got an exact match if I need a transfusion. The lovely phlebotonist gave up after 6 goes and went to fetch a colleague, Attila the Hun, who went for the kill in my hand. I've never known pain like it and sobbed like a baby while squeezing the other lady's hand. I'm like a pin cushion now. But it's over with and I need to forget about it.
I have to have a shower later using a special antibacterial gel. Then use it again tomorrow and I must remember to remove the nail varnish. I hate showing my bare nails to the world, they are in a dreadful state. The finger nails are all mishapen and ridged while the toe nails are a dreadful grey/black colour - all as a result of the chemo. I suppose it could have been worse, I could have lost them (blessing in disguise that would have been ).
Topsy, I'm glad the dizzyness is subsiding. Enjoy your time with your sister and her family. I am intrigued by your mention of going 'commando' on the mainland. I have been tempted once or twice but haven't dared yet.
SR, your break in London sounds fab. You certainly packed a lot in. I love day trips up to town - it's only an hour from here.
Sparkle, after your day you deserve a glass or two of the vino collapso. I will join you in a while. 
Hi Framey, sorry to hear your mum's struggling with nausea and lots of wind. Maybe she needs something a bit stronger than Rennies. There are lots of other good remedies available. Maybe mention it to the DN (if they're visiting) or the doctor?
Smee, boo to the rude man. I bet you looked very fetching .
Well, off to shower now, might not have time to pop in tomorrow but please spare a few thoughts for me. Feeling a bit wibbly wobbly now.

Loads of good vibes for tomorrow Figgy, - we'll all be thinking of you, I'm sure it ill all go fine, - you're bound to feel a bit wobbly, but it ill be good to have it over and done with.

Sparkles, I am very seriously in awe of all your home grown veg, and all the careful food preparation, though it does all sound a bit extreme for the dogs 
. Kinds are so ungrateful, aren't they? Dd hates my food, which is not homegrown of course - she told her friend's Mum that she likes HER casseroles, it's just mine that are horrible
Framey - I agree with the others. Post operative wind is v common and pretty painful. After I had emergency surgery following an accident I lay in the hospital bed and farted at roughly 10 second intervals for about four days. Good job I was next to an open window.
KK well done on starting a new thread. I was vaguely thinking about it but getting scared.
Still a bit nonplussed about this new broadband. Apparently it's the ultimate - no idea why we need so much speed, but DH is swaggering about and doing that growling thing that blokes do when they have the keys to a sports car. He keeps downloading stuff and going 'Look at THAT!' To which I can only reply - 'Eh?'

The Broadband sounds very impressive Cakes, - like you I have no clue whatsoever about these things, - but DH would be doing the growling noise too
I've got to phone the doctor later this morning, not quite sure why, just so he can check I'm OK on the beta blockers I guess. he did say 'You'll have to insist the receptionists let you talk to me, don't take no for an answer 
- so I reckon I'm in for a fight - why couldn't he just phone me? I should have been having a lovely relaxing massage but had to cancel as I can only ring the surgery between 11 and 12.30 (my massage time 
)
The dog is in the huff with me because I trimmed her hair and bathed her, she keeps looking at me as if I've been beating her
Love to everyone, wishes for a nice relaxing day, and candle lit for Figgy here too.

managed to get through to the doctor eventually without too much aggro, just a 'Did he ask you to phone?'
He just wanted to check my heart rate had gone down, and tell me not to have hot drinks or spicy food. (so that means I have to eat a lot of cake right? - I think so)
My computer is making the most dreadful grinding noise, I think it might be on its way out, it keeps shutting down too

Cake definitely - presumably not ginger, tho' 
Computer doesn't sound good, I agree. DH's was shutting down inexplicably recently - it turned out to be a disagreement between mouse and pooter. Not sure if that's relevant here, though. I hope you have someone technical who can do something. We have an IT contract as we run very small businesses here - but they always sound tired and defeated when I call them [ grin]

Well it says, if you accidently take too many contact gp, or pharmacy, or a and e, BUT, it also says tablets come in doses up to 40mg, and some people are on 80mg a day, I'm guessing you are on 20mg like me?- which it calls a starting dose, so I would say (with my enormous medical knowledge!) you will be fine. But ring pharmacy if you're worried.
You'll probably have the mother of all hot flushes

How's the weight loss going, SR? Sorry if that's a painful subject, we all have our good and bad times, I know. Mine continues, albeit at a snail's pace. I can get into more of my clothes now, but progress is tortuous
