General health

Your best guesses - infection or just odd cold / flu symptom(s)? Am moving next week and don't want to drag myself and two toddler to GP for nothing.

I've had either an horrendous cold or a light dose of flu the last week and a hlaf or so. Nowt unusual in that, all the usual symptoms from muscle pain to snot via slime and fever.

Anyway, for the last 4 or 5 days anything sweet I try and eat tastes revolting, an odd, distinct sort of revolting. Today I also have an odd sort of semen like taste at teh back of my mouth Hmm. Have been able to breath through my nose to a certain extent for the last couple of days but still can't smell or can't taste anything much, apart from these weird things.

So, what d' you think? GP or not? Non-UK so no NHS direct.

Its quite common for your sense of taste and smell to be affected by a cold so I wouldn't bother with the doctor. It should go in a few days.

yy, used to losing taste and smell. Not used to tasting things totally differently / things that aren't there.

Glad to hear that though.

That's a relief. Am a bit too good at ignoring my own illnesses and carrying on regardless. Got told off for always leaving things too late last time I went to GP (raging throat infection).

Hope I don't become a hypochondriac now Hmm
