Hi,

I'm having one these in the next few weeks. Has anyone had one before and know anything about the recovery? I have a 4 yr old and a 11 month old baby and I've been advised that I will need about 6 weeks help as I'll have a problem with lifting.

It's also going to be 'from the front' rather than 'from the side' which will supposedly prolong the recovery.

I'm having this done as I have a suspicious cyst on my kidney.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

OK i used to be a nurse on a kidney ward. have you had a c-section before the recovery is much like that? basically the first week it will be hard walking around and definatly no lifting for about six weeks, its no to bad but shopping etc will be hard and your not supposed to drive for 6 weeks. you will need help but make sure you take regular pain relief and laxatives Blush cuz of the straining. your muscles will need to heal good luck and dont worry
