Tailbone/coccyx pain

For the last couple of days I have had pain in my tailbone. Not really bad, but just a dull ache, and not aware of it the whole time.
I do suffer from a bit of health anxiety, so always imagining the worst.... I am not pregnant and have not had any injury to the area. I never think "it's just an ache, it will go away..." When I get any pain I always think "it must be cancer/heart attack/etc". Blush
I do get a bit of IBS - could it be related to that somehow?

I wonder if your muscles etc are tight/stiff.

Consider going to an osteopath?

I suffer from coccyx pain but I broke mine several years ago and so its niggles every so often. Especially if I do something to aggravate it

I suffer from health anxiety so I understand how hard it can be not to think the worst sometimes but likelihood is you'll have strained something somehow Smile

I have had this for months. Occasional dull pain, sharper if I am sitting on a hard bench. thought it could be internal piles but eventually went to (female) doctor who did an internal - basically stuck her finger up my backside and pushed about. The only time it hurt was when she pushed directly on the end of my tailbone. She said that I must have knocked it somehow (although can't think when) and apparently this bone has a very poor blood supply so it take ages/months to heal. she confirmed that pushing every other way inside my back passage caused no pain so was satisfied that it could only be the tailbone.
Hope this helps.

I broke mine - it's taken over 18 months for it to heal..................they are delicate items!

Thanks Decena, that's reassuring.

Random - poor you - I hope you are better now.

Sprained mine ski-ing 4 years ago. Took a good 18 months to stop hurting. Still gives me a bit of gyp occasionally.
