I had it years ago - and I just lived with it - it faded over a long time.

Maybe a chiropractor would help ?

I had this 18 months ago, and saw a sports physio for it. She said that this is THE exercise for achilles tendonitis:

Stand on toes on edge of step
Lower self SLOWLY down, so achilles is extended, and heels are as far below the step as you comfortably can
Raise onto toes

Three sets of 10. When this is easy, do one leg at a time.

The part of the exercise that works is the LOWERING, not the RAISING UP (which you can do any old how). Apparently it is loading the muscle as it lengthens that strengthens it.

It is not a quick fix though, it took me 2 - 3 months. If it feels a bit dodgy, I just start doing the exercise again for a while.

Don't know if it would help have you tried swimming or just in the water trying gentle stretching of foot. Just an idea
