Periods after having baby

Hi all

I gave birth to my beautiful DD 24 weeks ago. I had the normal bleed after giving birth and started my first actual period when my DD was approx. weeks. Since then I have only had about 4 weeks that I have not been on, my first period lasted over 5 weeks and only stopped when I went to the docs and was given the mini pill. I then had periods about every 2 weeks that lasted about 1.5 weeks and my last period has so far lasted just over 4 weeks. I have been back to the docs and she said that there is nothing they can do and I just have to wait for it to settle down. My question is - has anybody experienced anything similar and how long did it take for your periods to get back to normal? It has caused me to have aneamia and it is driving me crazy!!!

Not had that experience but I'd try & see another GP as it doesn't sound right.
