It started with a sneeze, then another and another and another. A very slight sore throat and a twinge of a headache. For about a week. Then WHAM!! Absolute exhaustion, swollen glands, sore throat, chest infection, weakness, headache, temperature and muddled thinking. I have spent 2 days in bed unable to do anything

Our entire family are on day ten and there is no sign of it going, silent. It really is horrible and leaves you as weak as a kitten.

I hope you feel better soon and try to rest if you can. A hot water bottle and strong painkiller help the aches, soup, yoghurt and lots of fluids to keep you going.

Yes- started last Tuesday and today is the first day I have been out to the supermarket.

Sore throat, sneezing, like a very heavy cold but with no energy and sore eyes if i read too much.

Oh great Sad

DH is currently in bed with raging temp, sore throat, headache etc.
He never takes time off work, he was throwing up at 2.30 this morning, I've just come back from work and he says he feels really spaced out and utterly knackered, he's been feeling wiped out for over a week but put it down to not sleeping very well due to shoulder bursitis.
We go to China ( touring around, lots of flights) in 10 days, what's the betting I come down with this too? I've been sneezing and coughing lots but put it down to hayfever.

Bugger. Angry

I have taken the dogs out for a little walk and now feel very tired. I have eaten for the first time since Monday. I hope you haven't got this horrible thing, whitechochocolate! The house desperately needs a clean, the dogs need a longer walk and I need to go back to bed.

I thought we all had the flu! DS1 had sore throat 2 weeks ago, still has bad nose. I came down with bad throat & temp, and now sinusitus - no energy levels. DS2 is coughing, DS3 has bad throat & temp. DH has temp, no energy but no other symptoms - yet.

Yep, I've got it now. Started with a bit of a sniffle on Sunday, then grew into full-blown coughing up half a lung, blocked nose, aching, shivers and headaches. Really hoping there's some light at the end of the tunnel soon.

Yes DS(23) has had something and ended up in hospital for 3 days with it.
Hospitalthought it was glandular fever, but after several blood tests the GP has said it was some sort of virus but not GF as that would have shown up straight away.
He has gone back to work after 11 days off sick
To be honest I'm amazed he's back so soon so hopefully all is well as we're on hols and he has just moved out and into a flat with friends (a week later than he should have done because of this virus that laid him very low).
No sign of it for DH and myself though.

Loads of things going round. Mine involved sleeping for 3 days, then feeling ill, sore throat, glands up, cough, snotty nose and runny eye. Yuck. Guess only a cold but a horrid one. I am on the mend now but that has been nearly 2 weeks in all.
