Ear blackheads- how to remove from squeamish 11yr old!

DS1 has 2 massive blackheads in the flat inner part of his ear, the bit you can see straight in front of you if you look at his sideways head, iyswim. So they're sort of flat 'into' his skull!

He conceded tonight that they're sore (though not inflamed or red, even, but they're both on raised, whiteish bumps they're so big) and that he's 'had them long enough'. I'm a bit worried he'll get teased about them at school.

DS1 is a wuss by his own admission. But I need a suggestion about how to attempt to get these 2 blackheads out, bearing in mind I couldn't get 2 fingers in there to squeeze them!

I will revisit this on Thursday.

TIA

A hair grip. Press the looped bit gently against his ear with the blackhead in the middle of the loop and they will just pop out. Or let me come and do it - I LOVE squeezing spots!

If you're going to go the squeezing route, do it straight after a prolonged hot bath and/or shower.

Use a biro, pen, bic, whatever you want to call it. Take the pen apart and yoy have the perfect ear blackhead removing implement. Using the outer part (the hole that the ball point normally comes out of) put it over the blackhead and press in. The gunk will all come out. I love doing this, my weapon of choice is a parker pen!!!

You can buy a blackhead removing metal gadget!

You could try the tweezerman blackhead remover tool. Get the blackheads warmed up first with a hot flannel, then try the tool, then use a little antiseptic cream.

Magnesium Sulphate paste can also work but I'm not sure of the method.

As candleshoe said, you can buy a blackhead removing metal gadget. Body Shop do them.

My Mum used to have one of those blackhead poppers - they were great!

The hairgrip suggestion is the method I use and it's very effective (and considerably cheaper than Tweezerman!)

A friend showed me this hideous game on her iphone the other day where you see a cartoon face of a teenage girl and she has spots and you squeeze the screen to make them pop and she moans and groans with pain / pleasure - YUK! They won't pop if you don't do it right. WHO THINKS THIS STUFF UP?!

LMAO @ all the crazy squeezers here including me

My aunt was a real bugger for anything like that. She was in seventh heaven when my uncle got bad sunburn and started to peel - like an overenthusiastic decorator stripping wallpaper.
