Ongoing thrush in toddler- natural remedies?

Hi my DD is 16 months and seems to have ongoing thrush/ nappy rash?? What is the difference? Its starts off quite red on the outside and then moves inwards. Sometimes the opposite. Canesten works at the time but as soon as we stop using it, it breaks out again. We took her to her G.P recently and received something called Timotee (not sure of spelling, cant find tube and have had 'some' red wine oops). Her rash was 'really' bad outside and in and this cleared it but can only be used for so many days. Long story short, she has multiple allergies (not sure if this affects it) also it seems to errupt when she is teething. She is lactose intolerant but I wondered if we can still use natural yoghurt down below as opposed to consuming orally? Know this may be an absurdly stupid question but I just dont know! Also I saw that someone had recommended Tea Tree oil in bath for thrush, can this be used for a toddler with exczema? Any advice would be welcome as I'm tired of using creams etc that are only temporary.

Timodine cream (blue and white pack, store in fridge) - only available on prescription and can only be used for a short time because it contains a corticosteroid to help the skin heal.

Phone NHS 24 and get an appointment with a doctor. There is nothing serious but a 16 month old shouldn't have to suffer the waiting until Monday before getting treatment, if it helps persuade you to phone NHS 24 I would not hesitate in refering your dd to a NHS 24 doctor if you came into my pharmacy tomorrow on the basis of what you have told me.

Also tea tree oil can be "nippy" so for a 16 month old with exczema and nappy rash i would say no.

her allergies would def affect nappy rash I used chickweed cream when DS had eczema it was very effective. Try a good health food shop they can help.

Also I cured DS's eczema with homeopathic sulphur and putting proper water softener bathsalts in his bath helped a lot.

What wipes are you using? Does she have a rash anywhere else?

I know Aloe Propolis creme works on eczema from personal experience on children, its soothing and you can use as and when needed too, like you said it looks like theres more going on within her body too, i know of something that might help, but want to just check with someone who knows more first then will come back to you. Take care.

I use huggies pure wipes. Considering going back to just cotton wool and water to see if it makes a difference. She is teething at the minute as well. VERY grumpy! Must try the bathsalts for eczema.

Think I will write down all these creams and have a trial with them!

teething often causes redness on face or bum IME . The "wipes ' often have weird stuff in them
