I had a 9 dayer that was only alleviated by Paramax (which is prescription only). but I can't take Triptans...

If it's been that long you need a medical opinion my lovely.

Three aspro clear usually shifts it for me better than other things, no idea why. I would at least ring the GP first though if not go in.

I have some triptans now, but previously my doc has recommended as dose of ibuprofen and two soluble solpadeines. Take and go to bed. I recommend that!

BUT!! My doc also tells me that if it last two days then to go in. So please do! I don't know you very well, but do know you have a lot on your plate.

it must be something to do with the weather as my sister, son and myself are suffering all the time at the mo.

Go back. I had a 5 day migriane once and thought I was going to die. I think your is probably stress related, and as whomoved said, you need to look after yourself.

have you tried the strongest over the counter painkillers and full fat coke thing? littlelapin once suggested it to me,a nd it worked, but I did as soon as I got teh flashing lights in eyes, so it might be too late

I have suffered migraine attacks for many years and triptans transformed my life but when stressed a few years ago I started getting them for days or weeks at a time. I eventually saw a neurologist who was a migraine specialist who recommended if one lasted over 24 hrs to take a low dose beta blocker for about 3 days.

Did the trick brilliantly.

They are used to prevent migraine if taken regularly but the short course was great and avoided the long term side effects.

They are also used for anxiety which makes sense as am sure The most laid back migraine sufferers get anxious if they have a long term one.

Saw several Drs over the years who were adamant that you couldn't have a migraine longer than about 24 hrs.

Oh, and check ( carefully of course!) the max dose of triptan as often can take more than the recommended tratment dose. I also believe that some suit others better the the "cheaper" ones. You can get nasal ones and ones that melt in the mouth.

But you probably knew that all already.

Hope your better soon.
