I went regularly to a NHS dentist but we moved 18 months ago and my new dentist is shocked by the state of the fillings that the previous dentist put in. And its not just him looking for business - I've seen the xrays myself. The old dentist has twice put fillings between my teeth - one was only a tiny one but the other one goes from one tooth to the next and was filled between the teeth right down to my gums. So my new dentist today tried to take part of it out because i cant clean between those 2 teeth and it bleeds lots. But it was a nightmare - could see the dentist shaking his head in despair! The gum was gushing blood - have now only got a temp filling in and have to go back next week!
Didnt even go for that - this is my other problem. I've now been told that i should have years ago been seen by the hygenist since i have gum disease. I've had to go 3 times in the last 7 days for cleaning under local anaesthetic.
So how do i go about registering my complaints about the dentist? Do i write to the practice themselves or is there a dentist council?
