BareFootAngel Thu 28-Jul-05 01:01:02

so tell me what to expect ...........please

suzywong Thu 28-Jul-05 02:34:04

easy
go malaysian or Singapore

take gameboys for those kids old enough
buy them all one toy they nag you for at the airport
expect the flight to be dull and long

re Changi, if you can't amuse yourself in one of the most modern, clean, techonologically advanced shop filled airports in the world then you need more help that a message board can give you, LOL

bobbybob Thu 28-Jul-05 03:59:01

Go swimming, it will wear them out for the next leg, it will be refreshing and it will fill 5 hours by the time you have got there and got changed etc. One of the terminals has a swimming pool.

eidsvold Thu 28-Jul-05 04:44:58

as suzy said - there is get shopping for you at Changi and Dh can take the kids to the pool/play area in the airport, wear them out. There is plenty to do...... My favourite airport other than our own here in Brissy

singapore, singapore, singapore airlines..... again have flown a few over the years BUT only singpore with dd1 and they were fabulous.

janinlondon Thu 28-Jul-05 09:39:53

If anyone hasn't slept on the first leg its worth getting a day room - they rent them out in six hour blocks - in the airport hotels in both Singapore and KL. No need to leave the airport or anything. Lovely to be able to lie flat for a couple of hours!

suzywong Thu 28-Jul-05 10:04:06

hi eids (it's 22 degrees here today and glorious sunshine - is this really winter?)

Is there a swimming pool at Changi? That's worth knowing about, thanks

Chuffed Thu 28-Jul-05 10:12:55

movie theatre too up near that hotel

eidsvold Thu 28-Jul-05 12:45:18

suzy - 24 here but not such a good day - dd1 in hospital overnight after a nasty bout of croup..... weather is rather glorious at the moment though.

purpleturtle Thu 28-Jul-05 12:49:11

This is great - keep it coming. We need to book tickets to Perth in September. Flying with a 4 yr old and 2and a half year old.

sorrel Thu 28-Jul-05 12:52:34

i would definitely choose to go east over west, as it is usually three 8 hour flights. Going via LA is hateful( LAX is horrid and the transfer lounge is a sty)
Changi in singapore is great. there is even a pool. I'd go with Emirites again- food yummy/plane empty after middle east stopover.( and lovely Irish girls as air stewards.)
eg London-Dubai- Singapore- Kingsford Smith
