Okay - please indulge me in a couple of questions if you would.

1) Where can I buy a good frisby? We had one last year that was like a ring of Saturn and it was great but it died.

2) What other games can a family of four (children 12 and 14) play on the beach that don't take lots of equipment to pack?

3) I still haven't got a sun hat because my head is too small! can anybody suggest where I might look next?

4) If I haven't got a freezer section in the apartment fridge, what is my best way of keeping drinks cool for an hour or two?

Cheers!

Hopeful bump - are all you all too busy with the roast potatoes?

janeite Sun 26-Jul-09 13:23:58

Sorry - I appear to have lost the ability to write. Or are you all too busy ......etc

No roast dinner here! sad

1) wait till you get there. If it's touristy there's bound to be some beach shops to look around in.
2) throwing stones at a piece of driftwood (hours of fun for the pontas family grin
3) Mothercare, Adams, etc
4) thermos? cold bag?

Have fun!!

Not doing the potatoes left that to DH smile

1)Hmm not to sure on this one

2)Swingball?, cricket?(plastic one)

3)Would a child's hat fit? They come in age range size's

4)Run the cold water tap for a bit or buy some ice and put in sink.

HTH

Thanks! No roast dinner here either - going for curry tonight.

Swingball and cricket prob a bit big to pack - anything smaller?

Mothercare and Adams too small - I'd probably need about a child's age 13 - maybe Next, do you think?

celticbohys Sun 26-Jul-09 14:27:08

Yes, Next will do an older range.

Beachball - ooh yes, we had one last year and I'd forgotten. Wonder if it's still stuffed in a drawer somewhere?

How about a kite. We had a lovely day on Hunstanton beach last year flying kites (DC's 11 and 13)

Thanks. Sorry I should have said that the beach will be in Greece, so anything we take needs to be small enough to fit in a suitcase! Probably not enough wind for a kite.

Re: the beach, can't you just take snorkelling stuff and maybe buy a couple of boogie boards or a dinghy when you get out there?

moshie Sun 26-Jul-09 14:50:31

H&M hats seem small, only place my grown up DD can get hats to fit.

janeite Sun 26-Jul-09 15:11:02

Thanks.

H&M - will look.

With the games stuff, I'm not hugely confident in the water, so am looking for throwing games etc that we can play together on the sand or in the shallows. The girls will swim for hours but it would be nice to have something I can join in with too!

Oh I'll be doing plenty of sleeping and reading too but I suppose I ought to socialise for a few minutes each day!
