Anyone got any experience of this area? We're holidaying in an apartment 10 mins drive from SE on top on Montanas Verdes.

I've never been to Ibiza so any info would be useful - two adult and three children aged 8yo, 8yo and 9yo travelling.

We've just come back from Ibiza. Have a look at www.ibiza-spotlight.com for some background on the Island. SE is lovely and Es Cana which is near by is worth a visit for the Hippy Market (a little commercialised but the children may like it). There are so many beeches to visit and they are all lovely. Are you hiring a car? It's not cheap there now with the euro so bring plenty of spends . I love Ibiza.

agree with Pinotmum. Great area of the island. Es Cana is really nice and close to Santa Eularia. I also thought Cala Llonga was worth a visit for the beautiful beach. Def worth hiring a car imo at least for a few days so you can have a look round the whole island. I love ibiza too and am Have a great time

I've just been looking at car hire and found compact cars e.g. Fiesta for around £150 for a week. I think we will need one as the aprtment is away from the town in a residential area.

Thanks for the warning about money. Are cash points easily available?

What was the weather like? BBC weather says around 24C and sunny which is perfect as far as I'm concerned.

I've only ever been in August but tbh it was too hot! I think this time of year is perfect. My sister always went to Ibiza in May and always came back with a gorgeous tan whilst it wasn't unbearable for the little ones.

That's my plan, booniej, to get there before it gets too hot. Went to Spain in August two years ago. Big mistake.

We had some rain but were told May has 1 bad week by the locals and we got it . Avg temp was 25C and that's hot enough for me! Try and change your money in Supermarkets that advertise "no commission". The bureaux de change advertise a good exchange rate and then hit you with high commission. We learnt this the hard way . We didn't use cashpoints but saw them around. I just have to lose the weight I put on now as the food is delish especially the paella and garlic prawns. Have a great time.

Blimey - Ibiza was my first ever holiday when i was 10 and this has brought the memories flooding back!! It is really beautiful. We stayed in Cala Llonga and also visited Es Cana and Santa Eulalia for the hippy market and the aquamar water park. Would love to go back
If you like seeing the 'real' side of places go to the 'old town' - it's lovely - little narrow cobbledey streets

Thanks for all the info - we've just arrived back, having had a wonderful time.

The weather was warm and sunny but not hot - except Friday when we all got a little hot under the collar as the temperature soared.

The children LOVED Aguamar but we adults hated the lack of shade and appalling food - chips and burgers. They also loved Niu Blau Beach which was where we spent most days. Also popular was the Hippy Market at Es Canar - we went by boat from Santa Eulalia.

We ate some fabulous food. Mmmmm. Great tapas and in the evenings the children were keen to try/re-acquaint themselves with squid, snails, sardines, sole, etc.

The apartment was fantastic - three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two terraces overlooking the bay. One terrace was great for breakfast; the other was as big as some apartments I've stayed in in commercial apartment blocks.

Would rather like to go back again and again as we explored very little but found some places which were great. We left feeling that there was lots more to see and you could spend 10 or 20 years doing so!
