or possibly Devon, suitable for Me, DP and DS nearly 4, for June.
My fantasy is a cottage in a cove or on a little hill, with a garden area and a path leading to a beach. Possibly attached to farm, or maybe fishing village. Pub within walking distance. Possibly near enough to visit Tate at St Ives, or other attractions - e.g eden project.
Doesn't have to be luxurious, but comfortable.

What's your budget?

We have just booked a cottage in Cornwall for a week in the summer. Haven't been there before so no idea what it's going to be like but the company we are using is: West Cornwall Cottage Holidays. www.westcornwallcottageholidays.com

Might give you some ideas anyway!

mmm, I have just looked at some cottage companies and under £350 pw seems poss in June, so was hoping to manage that, but could go higher if we needed to and to fulfill my fantasy!

There were a couple of similar threads a while back - have a look in the Travel section.
We've used www.Cornishtraditionalcottages.com & this year www.farmcott.co.uk

I've just been browsing for you and a lot of them look really horribly decorated.

LOL WWW! there is a certain 'holiday cottage chic', n'est pas! I think people furnish them from things they don't want in their homes.

But since we wouldn't be able to do a 'house swap holiday' because of the lamentable unreconstructed decor in our own house, I am sure we could feel at home in many of these cottages.

Actually, this is fab research and advice, and thank you all v much

There is Blu, it often looks like my mum's kitchen circa 1978!
