Ds (a lively 5.5 y.o.) and I have two days in London the week after Easter, just him and me (quality mum/son time!). He wants to go to the Zoo one day, we've already done the Natural History and Science Museums recently, and we can't do the London Eye or Aquarium because we've promised dh and dd not to go to these without them. Can anyone help me with any good ideas for what to do on our 2nd day in London?

Try the Imperial War Museum, Azzie. Lots of planes etc on display plus "Blitz experience" (though it packed up just before we got in) and "Trench experience" and the 1940 house. (Just south of Westminster Bridge.)

I believe the Vic & Alb is good too though haven't been there.

Coram's Fields in Russell Square for an outdoor day in a fantastic playground (as recommended to me by other Mumsnetters and throuroughly enjoyed!).

Kew Gardens - if the weather is nice - is beautiful at the moment. Plus from next weekend there will be a childrens' farm there. Also loads of fishes to see in various hot houses and vast quantities of birds to feed, which seems to make it that bit more interesting for them.
