I think your idea is lovely Cod - You are obviously a very nice fish really - underneath your scaley exterior!

What a wonderfully bonkers idea! Not passing anywhere near me sadly, or would be at station with big sign saying 'THANKS FOR THE PANTS' (bought some nappies from bensmum3 a while ago...)

Oh OK, I'll do Bristol and Tortoiseshell has said she might help me.

tiredemma Sat 26-Mar-05 10:13:30

what time does the train get into b.ham? and is it b.ham new st?
im off that day so could meet them although b.ham new st does have about 15 platforms so it would take some planning!!

Miaou Sat 26-Mar-05 10:19:18

It's Birmingham new street 16.06-16.12

I guess the platform would come up on the departure board - assuming the final destination is bodmin? That's where they are heading to.

tiredemma Sat 26-Mar-05 10:45:29

ive not read the other thread fully (im at work) what are we doing? something like a little bag of goodies?

I'm sure Bensmum won't mind me saying as she has said it on here elsewhere - she has dd aged 10, ds aged 7 and ds aged 21 months.

Miaou Sat 26-Mar-05 10:53:43

you could CAT me for ideas for bensmum if you like then it would be a surprise!

tiredemma Sat 26-Mar-05 10:58:33

im almost 99% certain i can do b.ham new st, im at homestart doing my volunteer work that day but if i have any probs ill get my dad to meet them with his red flag ( hes a train driver at new st)
but i wont let them down either way.

this is quite exciting!! feel like one of the railway children

bensmum3 Sat 26-Mar-05 20:14:57

Miaou knows me too well, I do like surprises ! I was thinking that we will bring along a little something (was thinking Mallaig kippers, but they might be a bit smelly by Glasgow) for all the lovely MN's that we meet at the stations.
Tiredemma I wonder if your Dad would know if the children would be ok using red flags, or which colour would be better?

Miaou Sat 26-Mar-05 20:22:19

hi bensmum, glad to be of help!
Do you have a coach reservation? That will help everyone to know whereabouts on the train to look for you.
Also, does it terminate at Bodmin or go on elsewhere? Anyone checking for the platform no. at their station will need to know the train's final destination so that they meet the right one!

ill find out for you bensmum, i cant see it being a problem but its best to check, especially for the larger busier stations.
i know he has a red flag to keep the trains stationary and the green to send a signal to go, but ill find out tomorrow.

bensmum3 Sat 26-Mar-05 21:15:16

We have reserved seats in carriage C from glasgow to Bodmin, I will check where the train goes from there.Thankyou tiredemma, I would hate to cause a problem.

May be able to do B'ham New Street. I will check with DP nearer the time and will be there if he is going to be in B'ham.
