Come on people - surely one or two of you have been somewhere fab?

ZakuroFujiwara Fri 19-Sep-08 09:50:52

I think Champney's in Tring does a programme like this and it is very lovely and friendly there. I'm sure if you spoke to them they would come up with a fab programme for you. (I haven't done their detox programme but have had lovely thalassotherapy sessions which are part of their programme.)

Otherwise have heard good reports of that place in Thaliand that was on the TV about 4 years ago. Very, very harsh apparently but absolutely did the trick in a similar situation. I can get the precise name if you want me to.

Was that the place where all the celebs had colonic irrigation? If so, not sure that's quite my bag! But do need a more medical based place rather than just somewhere they'll give you a nice massage, so any thoughts most appreciated.

I thought La Source was dismal (only went for a visit didn't stay)

Abby you need to sort out your adrenal glands first (if they are knackered)

Have you tried this lto it is Jo Dunbar you need.

CD when did you go, they re-opened this year after an very expensive refurb and have been closed for over 2 years. I've heard anyone else call it dismal. You can't visit it as a day guest.

Any Banyan Tree but can particularly recommend the Seychelles

Club Med in Mauritius. Just laze around. You will feel much better a fortnight later.

clumber Fri 19-Sep-08 11:53:56

Love this place...

There is a doctor there to advise.

There is also a detox spa based at the thermal spa in Ax-les-Thermes in France. It has a very good reputation for detox although I have only been there for the day.(About an hour away from Toulouse airport)

PS Champneys do do medical programmes with their onsite doctor.

Carmenere Fri 19-Sep-08 11:58:49

Oh I have been to Club Med in Mauritius Anna, it is special isn't itgrin

Carmenere Fri 19-Sep-08 11:59:50

Oh I have been to the Banyan Tree in the Seychelles too. It was amazing BUT I had cockroaches in my bathroom and couldn't sleep due to terror.

Anna8888 Fri 19-Sep-08 11:59:51

Super relaxing grin
