We are off to Sharm El Sheikh soon - does anyone have any top tips on this resort?

I am also trying to figure out whether there are likely to be any biting insects around!

We've been, or at least in one of the hotels outside Sharm itself.
No insects that I remember.
Diving/snorkelling is fab, hotels are good quality and cheap, not much going on outside the hotel.
Great place for some inexpensive sun and fantastic marine life. We really enjoyed it, as did dd (then 3) as the hotel had 2 brilliant swimming pools one with "lazy river" where you could lie on a lilo and float round a slow moving cicuit - very relaxing.

went there 4 years ago when pregnant with dd1 - last holiday pre-kids! It was fab. Stayed in fab hotel - with private beach front - they provided beach towels/chairs etc... It was very hot... the restaurants were great, but sadly I was very sickly with the pregnancy and never fancied much more than a jacket potato or cheese sandwhich. Just remember a lovely relaxing holiday.
Seem to remember the arrivals lounge and visas being a bit of a mare at the airport there.
Where are you staying?

We went (me, dh, dds 1&2) last April. We stayed just outside Sharm el Sheikh, on the beach.

The weather was hot and sunny all day but slightly cool some nights, so you might want cardigans/wraps. It's hottest in the morning and cools down after about 3.30pm. My kids (aged 3 & 1) found it too hot in the middle of the day so we retreated to our hotel room and the little one slept while dd1 watched TV.

The only wine on offer was Egyptian and none too appetizing (very sweet rose and white wine) so if I went again I'd definitely buy some wine in duty free and have an early evening drink on the balcony.

The sea was beautifully clean and warm and the snorkelling was great, if you enjoy it (I don't!).

The airport isn't great, so spend as little time there as you can. You do have to queue up for visas when you get there but our hotel sent a car and the driver did all the queuing so wasn't too bad.

Also forgot to say we didn't get bitten at all!
