(10 Posts)I know there's a footpath alongside much of the river Wye, but only in the area for a couple of days, so would appreciate views on the most scenic stretches to walk. Thinking in terms of a walk that will take 2-3 hours (a bit longer also OK if walk particularly good).
Follow the Wye or try Tintern or Monmouth. Whereare you staying? X
Thank you. Staying just outside Ross-on-Wye.
Yat Rock has a great lookout where you can look down upon the England Wales border and is lovely.
For a walk I would go to th Saracens Head pub in Symonds Yat - park up then walk down to the Biblins where you can cross the river on a rope bridge to the other side (England), then back to where you parked for an earned drink!
Depending upon where you are staying the Forest of Dean may be close too - a short walk around Speech House is nice or Cannop ponds?
I clicked to say the exact as @inguildford. The view from Yat Rock is one of my favourite views in the world. Simple but beautiful. And if you're into birds take binoculars!
Thank you for the suggestions. Looking forward to trip!
Symonds Yat definitely.
Try Offa’s Dyke walk which is at one point runs near Ross.
Thanks SJane.
