Start using Mumsnet PremiumHelp! Will they let me travel
(6 Posts)Hi all
My passport is out of date 21 March 2020
I’m travelling to spain from 16th-25th sept 2019. Meaning I will be travelling back just under the 6 month mark. Will they still let me travel?
Flights are easy jet from Bristol-Murcia in Spain.
Thanks in advance.
Should be ok as we are still in the eu
Yes, while we're in the EU you just need a valid passport.
It must be valid for the duration of your stay but doesn't need to be valid for 6 months afterwards. You'll be fine. The 6 month rule is generally for countries where you also need a visa to enter that country, such as Thailand.
Is your passport British? If it is, you're fine. We recently went to Greece with 3 months left on dd's passport. The 6 month thing doesn't apply whilst we're still members of the EU.
Thanks everyone!! What a relief
