(9 Posts)I am off to Stratford Upon Avon tomorrow evening. My DS has a modelling job up there Friday and Saturday but we won't be needed all day!
I'd like to do all things Shakespeare but I know he will find it boring!
Any kid friendly things to do? I am driving so will have a car!
Thank you
Definitely visit the MAD Museum!
Butterfly farm
Local antiques shops
See if there any bands in the park for a picnic
I've just looked at the MAD museum!! I think he'll enjoy that! Thank you
We were in Stratford yesterday with the DC. The MAD museum was fantastic - never mind the DC, I could have stayed there for the day! We also visited the Tudor Museum as the elder DC has just been studying that period in History, interesting for both the DC.
I got some recommendations last week - thread here.
We also looked at taking one of the riverboat trips, but time and the weather turned against us.
Another vote for the MAD museum which is excellent.
If you park in the Recreational Grounds car park on the east side of the river, there is a big playground at the far end of the car park which is fun. If you then walk towards the river across the grass you can get a chain ferry into town which my kids always loved.
There's a nice ice cream parlour, Hoorays, on High Street.
We love Stratford! Have fun
Fab thank you so much! I have no idea how much time we will have, also no idea where his model shoot locations are yet.. they aren't the best at giving us information until the last min!!
2nd the butterfly farm - they have giant iguanas!!!.... There was a fair in stratford the other day too tho not sure if its still there xx
