(31 Posts)Long haul, 2.5 weeks.
Do you pack shampoo/conditioner/shower gel? Or buy it when you get there?
I’m fussy so take it with me
I like my favourites so decant into 100 ml bottles . I estimate 5ml each wash so enough for 20 days .
It depends where you are going.
If plenty of people with your hair type buy it there.
I can't buy good stuff for my hair where I live, so stock up when I can.
I pack my own. Can be more expensive abroad
Where are you going?
I put mine into 100ml bottles as well. Don't waste time on holiday going shopping for toiletries which I may not find and will probably b more expensive
Depends on where your going, and what kind of places your staying in????
More info would help
I use the shampoo and shower gel provided but take my own conditioner. If it’s not going to be provided I’d take my own. Hate having to shop when I get somewhere. At least enough to start you off anyway if you do decide to shop there.
Sorry! A villa in Florida 2 minutes from Walmart.
You’re going for a long time so would need to take a lot with you and you’re near a big store with tons of choice that presumably you’ll have to go to anyway for groceries etc. so in your case I’d definitely buy there and save the packing space.
I pack shampoo and conditioner in the pesky little travel bottles, but double up the amount of shampoo as I have a fussy scalp and don't want to run out. If I run out of conditioner, would just buy some locally or use the hotel provided one.
I take a shampoo bar and soap bar.
In your circs, I'd pack travel sized bottles to get me through to the next shop, and then I'd go crazy in a big American pharmacy!
Primark travel bottles set £1, buy two.
Put your must haves in them, you even get little pre printed stickers.
I usually take fave shampoo and conditioner, face stuff.
Shower gel I buy abroad.
Unless you have any allergies, buy some there and ditch them when you leave. Never pack anything that you don't have to!
If I've got hold luggage I just take what I have from home with me.
CBA going shopping for toiletries abroad and they're almost always more expensive. Buying stuff to leave behind is just wasteful.
Or if I don't have hold luggage I take 100 ml bottles with decanted shampoo etc in. Plenty for 2 weeks.
I'd take enough to get me through the first morning, and then would go to Walmart; I like a good mooch round an American supermarket.
(This has reminded me of the time I saw someone take a dripping suitcase off the carousel at the airport in Naples. Some bright spark had packed a half used bottle of water, which had leaked into the bag...)
I'd take enough to get me through the first morning
If you do that you may as well take enough to last 2 weeks. Which is what I would do, and buy more interesting stuff in walmart.
Or spend your holiday somewhere more interesting in Walmart!
'more interesting than Walmart!

All hotels supply small toiletries, soap. You can buy a Lush solid soap/hair bar. I've used the travel soap leaves, which are mini & weigh nothing & can hand wash using these too.
I decant into small bottles
I take it with me. I don't want to have to worry about it when I'm there.
