Start using Mumsnet PremiumMorocco - does the country 'shut down' over Easter?
(7 Posts)Just that. - planning a trip to Rabat that means we will be there over Easter Friday and flying back Easter Monday
We want to see as much as we can , but I am nervous that sites, museums, shops and restaurants will be closed over the weekend,
I understand it is an Islamic country (I lived there eons ago) but don't know if they will also close that weekend.
Advice from those that have first hand experience would be ideal please xx
Not sure why it would, unless it co incides with an Islamic festival.
Because of the french / catholic influence
Bumping
I was there a few years ago over Easter and absolutely nothing was shut. The French influence really hasn't extended to them taking Easter off!
thanks for your advice
It's not a Christian country so they won't even recognise Easter
