Start using Mumsnet PremiumBuying currency with cash
(4 Posts)Evening! Does anyone know if it's ok to still buy euros with cash, not using a debit card? Might sound daft but I've been withdrawing cash and saving the odd bits and now having a slight panic they may not accept it for some odd reason?!
You'll usually require ID such as your passport, due to money laundering regulation. But no problem in buying with cash at all.
Get a Starling account. Transfer the cash into that account. Use the Starling card to pay abroad or withdraw currency. Get a better rate than exchanging in your home country.
Just check the exchange rate they offer.
Don’t do it at airport you’ll get crap rate
