(17 Posts)Oh, if you haven't seen it before the 9/11 museum is a must see
www.911memorial.org/museum
There are lots of other things to see and do in that part of downtown.
I'm a New Yorker and there are so many things to see and do that I haven't done them all, so it's hard to know what you've already done.
Here's one that most people don't know about - the Radio City Music Hall stage door (back stage) tour

It's great fun and very interesting. You'll be right in Rockefeller Center for some fab shopping and nice places to eat when you're done.
The other bit that comes to mind that you've probably missed is the Central Park Zoo:

It's not far from museum mile, so nip over to the Museum of Natural History and Hayden Planetarium if you haven't been there before. The show at the planetarium is really brilliant.

Take Amtrak to Albany, and explore NY's capitol.
Take the 7:15 a.m. train to Toronto that stops in Albany after 9:00 a.m. and enjoy the day.
Thanks minipaws
Chelsea Market is fun and the High Line's a lovely way to get there.
Winnie the Pooh toys in the beautiful Public Library are also worth a look.
Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
Statten Island ferry
Williamsburg independent shops and cafes are worth a trip
I loved just walking through Central Park, listening to the free concerts, watching the skateboarders and dogwalkers (and snake walkers)
Thanks jaimx86 and Ineed
Brooklyn Nets basketball game at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn if there is one on while you are there. Best night of our trip.
I did a food tour with Ziggy - it was well worth the cost!
Thanks Budgiegirl, looking forward to looking up those suggestions
The Crown of the Statue of Liberty - must book advance
The Federal Reserve - gold vault, free but must book in advance
The original Winnie the Pooh toys in the Public Library
The Roosevelt Tramway
Theodore Roosevelt’s House - beautiful restored house
Thanks eurochick.
The Sunday Times at the weekend had a City guide that covered NYC. Might be worth a look.
Thanks all, I have the high line and Chelsea market on my list. The food tours sound great too.
High Line if you haven't done it and it's open at this time of year.
Chelsea Market just nearby.
Food tour could be fun and expose you to different areas...this guy gets brilliant reviews.
Hi, going on a 4 day trip to New York soon and I would love some suggestions of things to do there. I have been twice before and have done all the major tourist attractions so I am looking for something a little bit different. I am open to all sorts of ideas. Thanks in advance
