(11 Posts)Hey mums....have you sent off for your baby’s first passport? if so how long was the wait etc? When did you get it back? did they update you with texts
Sent my DD’s off 05/02/18 through check and send
phoned up and they said they received it 07/02/18.
Are you in a rush?
I applied for my DS in Jan and it was back within the week, using PO check and send.
It usually takes 2-3 weeks I think assuming everything is in order. So pretty quick!
Yes, I did one for my daughter last month. I sent the completed application form on a Tuesday for next day delivery and had the passport back the following Monday. I didn’t use the PO Check & Send service.
The HO text when they received the form on the Wednesday, another text the following day to say I should receive the passport within three weeks and then the next day, another text to confirm that I should receive the passport within a few days. Really quick service!
I sent a passport form off on New Year's Eve, just before post office closed. Passport was delivered four days later. I think the form can't have spent more than a couple of hours in Newport before being processed! Very impressive.
Took about a week, it was a nice surprise!
@dontcallmethagyoucun
They texted us updates when it was received/processed/being sent.
Oh and we didnt use check and send - came back in 2.5 weeks
Entirely depends on the time of year and how busy they are
