(18 Posts)Normally have holiday all booked by February after extensive research but decided as funds lower than normal this year to wait till the last minute and try and get a bargain. Is it possible to get a holiday for 4 self catering somewhere hot 3rd week of August? Anyone had a bargain?
We got eurocamp last week in August £1k
In a mobile home not camping
Op, I would recommend doing a search on Skyscanner for flights, to start with. You can enter your departure airport and then search 'everywhere' so that you can find the cheapest flights. Then I would look on Airbnb and other independent holiday lets. Or even Booking.com. But remember to factor in transfers from the airport at the other end. Good luck!
You probably want to look at packages too when booking late, as the flights are often expensive.
If you are willing to go to Turkey (I would) you'll probably find something.
I'd try teletext holidays, jet2holidays, plus Thomas Cook, Thomson etc. If you're not bothered where you go and just want some sun, just put your dates and requirements in terms of party size and departure airport into the late deals section and see what comes up.
Thanks guys. Turkey has some amazingly cheap accommodation but the flights take it over budget. I have found 4 flights to Ibiza from our local airport at a good time of day for £105 for all 4 of us........amazing. Unfortunately accommodation there is really expensive now. I will definitely look at Eurocamp. Fingers crossed.
Our eurocamp trip is driving and ferry, France
Or for £1k a cottage in Cornwall
Sorry as well as eurocamp you could check canvas holidays, siblu and yelloh for similar
'On the beach' has some insanely low deals. Friends of ours have just booked Crete for a week for £150 each.
ohdearymeno is that for later in the year?Just had a look at their website and flights alone are £1000.
2014 new me, that's a great price. DH does a lot of driving in his job though and wants a break from long journeys. Happy to fly from any airport though to keep the cost down.
Look at eurocamp. There are a few in Spain too so good weather. There are cheaper sites like lifestyle holidays that have vans on the same sites but are a lot cheaper. You might get cheap last min flights on Easy jet. I priced some up for end of August for four of us for around £800
Have a look at Olympic Holidays. They have self catering in Greece, including flights, for £220 each in August. Several different departure airports and Greek islands to choose from.
Yes, got flights to Alicante 28th August for £250 and 3 bed accommodation in Campello for
£500 for a week booked through trip advisor
Thanks Vintageproblem. Had a look but can't see anything under £350 each 🤔
Look at holiday pirates
We got lucky last year booking a flight to Treviso, Italy and then took a drive to Croatia.
Check out Venue holidays too. Very much like Eurocamp but can work out cheaper.
We are looking at a trip to Lake Garda with them during May half term at a cost of £355 for a week!
My kids booked on Tuesday to go to Turkey on Monday. They paid just over £500, each, AI. When they looked on Sunday a lot of AI holidays were £900 each but by Tuesday they were between £5-600.
They didn't want to go SC but there were quite a few holidays for around £200 each for next week.
That was all with Thomson/First Choice.
You might get a bargain if you hold on a few more days.
