Start using Mumsnet PremiumOvernight between Roscoff and Dordogne
(3 Posts)Am driving from Roscoff to The Dordogne this summer and won't manage to do the drive in one go. Ideally I'd like to get as far down as possible before stopping for the night. Is it realistic to just try and get accommodation on the day in one of the Ibis-type places that you see on the motorway or should I plan and book in advance? Thanks!
It may depend on the exact time you are travelling - is it in peak season around a weekend? If it's a very busy time it may be best to book.
I assume you want to don't want to book so you can drive as far as you can? You could check availability of a few that are on your route before you set off to gauge what availability is like.
Thanks Rainbow. It's the 1st of July so shouldn't be too chaotic. I'm thinking I will just book somewhere roughly half-way anyway. I'm sure I'll be glad to stop when the time comes!
