(5 Posts)Heading to the mountains on the A5 and I am wondering if Dobbies in Shrewsbury is going to be the cheapest place to fill up with petrol or whether its better to wait until Porthmadog. The prices vary so much and can be up to 10p a litre more at some places. TIA
Definitely shrewsbury. The prices go up as soon as you go west of there on your route.
Actually, some of the prices in the small towns and villages can be quite competitive as they would not survive otherwise.
If you can go to the Sainsbury's just off the island that Dobbies is on- much cheaper!
thanks - dobbies was 120pl for diesel more expensive than most others when it is usually the cheapest - saw 118 most other places but I found 116 in porthmadog. Will have to look out next time for the sainsburys thanks for the tip
